Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) is when a child or young person experiences significant emotional distress around attending school.

There can be many reasons behind this, including anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, difficulties within the school environment or individual needs that aren't being met.

I believe it's important to understand what's causing that distress, rather than simply focusing on school attendance.

As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist and experienced trainer, I work with children and young people to help them build confidence, develop coping strategies and make positive changes.

My approach is solution focused, recognising that every young person is different and that support needs to reflect their individual circumstances.

I also provide CPD training for therapists and professionals who want to develop their understanding of EBSA and how best to support young people experiencing these difficulties.

What My Clients Say

After having sessions with Julie I can confidently say she has helped me in so many ways. After my first few sessions with her, my mum saw a massive improvement in how I coped and I noticed it too.

After 4 years of not finding anyone who matched my needs and knew how to help me, I finally found her and I could not be more grateful. Julie helped resolve any issues I had and after each session I felt a massive weight lift off my shoulders.

After having many sessions with different therapists, she is by far the most effective. I highly recommend her to any other person who feels they would benefit from therapy.

Overall, she's just the best!!!
